About

AV Carbon is an independent consulting practice based in Germany, founded by Jonathan Michaut — a physical commodity trading operator with over six years of experience in oil products and biofuels across Geneva, Amsterdam and Hamburg. We work with fuel distributors and maritime operators who need to understand their carbon obligations, quantify their exposure, and build compliant monitoring and reporting frameworks — without the overhead of a large consultancy.

ETS2 Readiness

Assessment of your fuel streams and monitoring plan obligations under the EU Emissions Trading System extension (ETS2, effective 2027). Gap analysis, monitoring plan drafting, DEHSt and NEa submission support.

FuelEU Maritime

Compliance roadmap for shipping operators under FuelEU Maritime (effective 2025). GHG intensity calculations, well-to-wake emissions assessment, pooling strategy.

CBAM Advisory

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism compliance support for importers of regulated goods. Embedded emissions calculation, reporting obligations, transition period strategy.

RED III & Sustainability

Biofuel sustainability compliance under RED III and ISCC frameworks. Mass balance, chain of custody, reporting obligations.
